So here's an animated gif of @SafeBoating from last night.

To answer your question in advance: Because I can, that's why.

This was one hell of an experience. A weird little theater, right in the middle of Five Points, two of my favorite bands in town, about a dozen other people (including members of the bands not on stage at the time) and really, really great music.

If you haven't seen Pink Hawks live, I pity you. Deep, sorrowful pity. I will be posting more photos soon, but honestly, I didn't take many because I was dancing my ass off (at a level I have never danced before) the entire set.

Photos: Indian Jewelry + a strobe light = Art?

What do you do when you have an old, noisy camera, one fixed length lens and the band you want to shoot turns out all the lights save two irregularly firing strobe lights? You say "screw it" and start getting abstract.

Quick note: Indian Jewelry is one of Sarah's favorite bands and she turned me on to them a long time ago. They are effortlessly super cool and they are total pros. They play a tight, noisy perfect live set and put on one of the best concerts we've been to in a while. (Indian Jewelry - SWANS on YouTube)

This was our first time seeing Gauntlet Hair (from Longmont) after stumbling on their Myspace account several weeks ago and being intrigued. They are very, very good for such a new band. Imagine a dirtier, dancier Brian Eno (circa Another Day On Earth) played by three dudes. Good stuff.
